Pitch for a Healthy Cause

In October 2018, nib foundation celebrated our 10th year of giving and to mark this major milestone, we held a special grant round Pitch for a Healthy Cause. Three Hunter-based charities were selected to pitch for their share of $100,000 in support of their commitment to improving health and wellbeing outcomes for vulnerable people and communities.

Community Grant

We're currently undertaking a major review of our annual Community Grant program to ensure our funding support can continue to deliver positive change to the health and wellbeing of communities across Australia.

The review comes following 10 years of helping to improve health and wellbeing outcomes of youth and carers throughout the country.

This is a great opportunity for nib foundation to revise our current program and processes to better align with our strategic direction on preventative health, while continuing to reflect our mission of helping people and communities live healthier lives. We'd like to thank all of our Community Grant partners and past applicants who completed our recent survey and provided us with some valuable insights into how we can improve our revised program.

The revised Community Grant program and new grant round timetable will be announced mid-2019.

Multi-Year Partnerships

Since 2009, nib foundation has established partnerships with 18 not-for-profit organisations, providing sizable grants over a number of years to address prevalent health issues in a new and/or innovative way. Until 2015 these partnerships focused on the needs of two specific groups; youth and carers.

During 2016 we undertook a strategic review of our grant-making activity and revised the focus of the Multi-Year Partnership program. You can read more about our new direction on the Multi-Year Partnerships page.

Applications to this program is by invitation only. Multi-Year Partnerships are normally identified proactively, and on an ad hoc basis as a vacancy in this program becomes available. Each year, most of our budget is invested with our ongoing partners.

In 2017 five new partnerships were approved as part of the Multi-Year Partnerships program. As such, we do not plan to seek new Multi-Year partners in the coming year.
