Additional funding for Families Supporting Families committed for 2016

Back

nib foundation is pleased to commit to another year of support of Families Supporting Families (FSF) in 2016, with an additional $5,000 grant to be directed towards the Carer Café Plus program. The program provides carers of children with special needs the opportunity to connect with one another to share information and experiences, as well as offer support services and education.

FSF is an inclusive, volunteer run organisation for the whole family of a child with additional needs and is based in the Hunter Region. The Carer Café Plus program aims to reduce the sense of isolation carers often experience, improve access to information and empower carers through education.

It provides a variety of opportunities for carers to connect with one another to share information and experiences and to build their capacity to support their child with special needs by learning from industry experts.

Our funding in 2016 will continue to support this program, enabling FSF to hold six Carer Café gatherings, four Carers Café Plus workshops and their annual Carers Dinner.
