Volunteers give happy to live happy

Back

As part of 2016 National Volunteers Week we want to say a big thank you to those who selflessly dedicate their time to contribute to the work of our charity partners. All of the community partners we have supported since 2008 rely on volunteers in some capacity, with several depending entirely on volunteers to achieve their mission.

We were fortunate to join volunteers from long standing nib foundation partner, OzHarvest Newcastle, this morning as they were recognised for their wonderful contribution at a 'thank you' morning tea. With this year's National Volunteer Week celebrating the theme 'Give Happy, Live Happy', we recognise that volunteering not only improves the lives of others but also contributes to the overall wellbeing and satisfaction of our volunteers.

nib foundation Chairman, Keith Lynch, shares a more in-depth view on the current state of volunteering in an opinion editorial that was published in the Newcastle Herald this week.
