Autoimmune Resource and Research Centre
Young Persons Education Project
The Autoimmune Resource and Research Centre aims to improve the health and quality of life of individuals with autoimmune disease through the provision of education, support and counselling services.
Diagnosis of such illnesses are being made at increasingly younger ages, however support services and resources are yet to make the shift to include these age groups.
The Young Persons Education Project is designed to help bridge this gap through the development of targeted information resources and education workshops for young people across Australia.
It is hoped the project, funded by nib foundation, will empower young people living with the disease by providing them with greater understanding of their illness and self-management strategies to limit the adverse lifestyle effects of illness symptoms.
