Adolescent Mental Health Program
Clarence Valley and New England Regions, NSW
Community Programs Inc helps identify and meet community services needs in the Clarence Valley and New England regions of New South Wales.
Despite the prevalence of mental health issues among adolescents, there are currently no non-clinical mental health support services specifically targeted at adolescents in the region, an issue to which the local organisation is perfectly positioned to respond.
To help meet this need, nib foundation has supported the Adolescent Mental Health Pilot Program which has been developed to provide a range of evidence-based, pyscho-educational and social support programs to people aged 15-18 years old in the area.
The program will inform young people about adolescent mental health issues, helping to enhance and maintain resilience and wellbeing, as well as reduce the stigma often associated with mental illness.
