Assistance Dogs Training - Dogs as Carers in our Community

Funding Dates

November 2012 - December 2013

Assistance Dogs Australia provides daily assistance to people with physical disabilities by training Labradors and Golden Retrievers to enhance their quality of life and give them greater freedom.
Recipients develop increased mobility, self-confidence and self-esteem with the highly trained Assistance Dogs providing independence, love and companionship.
They also reduce the need for a full time human carer, helping to improve relationships between family and friends of the recipient and enable carers to create a more fulfilling life for themselves.
nib foundation's funding will see two puppies trained to international standards and given to recipients free of charge.
