Riding for the Disabled provides opportunities for children and young adults with a disability to enjoy safe, healthy, stimulating and therapeutic horse-related activities.
Following the success of previous programs in the Tweed Valley for riders with disabilities, teachers identified an opportunity to assist local children with complex intellectual and developmental disabilities who have also experienced family trauma.
nib foundation's support will allow 10 riders, aged between six and 14, to participate in the riding program, helping to improve their riding ability and physical skills, personal development, learning, language and social skills.
