                                                                         Foundation House

Through its early intervention work with newly-arriving Karen (Burmese) families and individuals, Foundation House has identified young people who are being significantly challenged by the settlement process and are vulnerable for a range of reasons.

As a result of their displacement, profound losses, witnessing of extreme violence and exposure to hardship, these young people are struggling to integrate in Melbourne.

Foundation House is delivering a program designed to improve the health and wellbeing of young, at-risk Karen refugees in Victoria. If the pilot proves successful, there is potential to extend the program to other communities of refugee young people, both within Victoria and nationally. For more information visit
